For 10 years, it has been Rhys' dream to break the 10-minute barrier and this year he hoped to capture the elusive record and return it to the Millen name. This is look at his run and the challenges he faced in his custom built Genesis PM580: a 1,850 pound, 750 horse power V6 designed specifically to conquer the 156 turns of this 12.52 mile course (of which this year, half is pavement) that begins at 9,390 feet and finishes at the 14,110 foot summit."

"We recently built this 2008 Shelby GT500 for a Customer and took it to the track to make some passes with the new Evolution TH400 Transmission, Fabricated/Narrowed Ford 9" Rear with Aluminum Center and 4.10 Gears. The car had the Factory Stock Engine, 2.8H Kenne Bell Evolution "Competition" Twin Screw Supercharger Kit - 22.5lbs Of Boost, American Racing Longtube Headers with 3" Off Road X-Pipe and 3" Magnaflow Catback Exhaust. This car was at full weight, 3,960lbs without Driver. After a few shakedown passes it ran a 9.98 @ 139MPH, which is really good considering it was 97 Degrees out with 70% Humidity. This car will run much faster once the Fall season comes with it's 50 Degree Temps."
